Infor M3 began as Movex at Sweden’s Intentia, became Lawson M3 after a merger, and joined Infor when Infor acquired Lawson in 2011. Infor now sells it as a multi-tenant, cloud-native ERP built on AWS1.
Best for: Multi-company manufacturers and distributors in food and beverage, chemicals, fashion, distribution or equipment that want a multi-tenant cloud ERP.
Not the right fit for: Companies that need on-premises control, or project- and real-estate-heavy JD Edwards users.
What Infor M3 does
Infor lists six target sectors for M3: fashion, food and beverage, chemicals, distribution, industrial manufacturing and equipment, including equipment dealers, rentals, parts and service1. A single instance can run multiple companies, sites and currencies, and Infor says M3 is available in 74 countries.
M3 runs on the Infor Industry Cloud Platform, which Infor says provides AI and generative AI, process mining, robotic process automation, embedded business intelligence, role-based workspaces and no-code extensibility through APIs1. Updates are delivered through the cloud, which removes on-premises management.
