About this guide
Research for the finance, operations and IT leads who have to decide what happens to their JD Edwards system, and then live with the result.
Pages that rank "JD Edwards alternatives" tend to be written by a reseller of one of the alternatives. Few start from Oracle's own support dates, and fewer say which option is wrong for which company. This guide sets out to do both, and to show where every fact came from.
Who it is for
CFOs, controllers, COOs, CIOs and JD Edwards application managers at companies running JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or World. We assume you know your system and its customisations far better than any vendor does, and that you want a decision you can defend to a board, not a demo.
How it is made
Each alternative is described from its vendor's own published pages, with Oracle's pages used to describe JD Edwards itself. Every fact links to a source with the date we opened it. The comparison applies the same seven criteria to every option, and the methodology page explains them and the situation the ranking is built for.
We review the guide at least once a quarter, and whenever Oracle publishes a new Lifetime Support Policy or a vendor changes something material. Every page shows its last update and keeps a log of changes.
Names and trademarks
JD Edwards, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, JD Edwards World, Oracle and NetSuite are trademarks of Oracle. Other product names belong to their owners. We use them only to identify the products we compare. This site is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Oracle or any other vendor named here.
Ownership
This guide is published by the team behind OpenLazarus, one of the options it reviews. OpenLazarus is ranked first for one stated situation, modernising operations while keeping the existing ledger, and its limits are set out as plainly as every other option's. The ranking frame is on the methodology page.
