NetSuite describes its ERP as an all-in-one, AI-powered cloud business management suite and says it has more than 44,000 customers1. NetSuite is part of Oracle, so for a JD Edwards customer it is a change of product rather than of vendor.
Best for: Subsidiaries and simpler entities in a JD Edwards group, or smaller JD Edwards customers that want a single cloud suite.
Not the right fit for: Large mixed-mode manufacturers that depend on JD Edwards’ depth in manufacturing, asset and real-estate modules.
What NetSuite does
The suite covers accounting, orders, inventory, projects, production, supply chain and warehouse operations, and manages multiple subsidiaries, business units and legal entities in one system1. On finance, NetSuite describes the general ledger, receivables, payables and tax management; on operations, order management, procurement and warehouse putaway and picking.
For a JD Edwards group, NetSuite fits two situations best: a smaller company replacing JD Edwards outright, or a subsidiary that needs its own ledger while the parent keeps a larger ERP.

Strengths and limits
Strengths
- One suite for finance, orders, inventory, projects and warehouse work, with multiple subsidiaries and legal entities.
- NetSuite reports more than 44,000 customers.
- Its multi-subsidiary design suits a subsidiary that needs its own ledger while the parent keeps a larger ERP.
Limits
- Pricing is not published on the pages we read.
- Owned by Oracle, so it does not reduce vendor concentration for a company leaving JD Edwards.
- Less depth than JD Edwards in asset lifecycle, real estate and complex manufacturing on the pages we read.
Choose another option if: You are replacing JD Edwards across a large, multi-plant group rather than for a subsidiary.
